Benefits of wool bedding!
The pleasant feeling of sleeping in wool and the experience of the advantages of the wool bed are explained most simply in the points below.
Breathable:
The wool fiber is breathable and allows air to pass in both directions. (much like a well-ventilated house)
Wool absorbs body moisture 5-6 times more efficiently than, for example, cotton. The bedclothes thus never feel damp. The moisture that constantly leaves the body is thus ventilated away from the bed and you lie dry and comfortable.
Temperature regulation:
Wool is an incredibly good material for insulation – it keeps you cool when it's hot and warm when it's cold. Even in a cool room, it feels warm and pleasant to lie down in, unlike cotton and synthetics, which then feel cold and cooling. Wool bedding can therefore be used with advantage all year round.
Anti-allergic:
Thanks to the breathability and the lanolin (wool grease) that repels dirt, dust, mites, fungal spores and bacteria, woolen leggings are highly appreciated by allergy sufferers and asthmatics. Air the bedding as often as you can.
Pain relief:
The wool bed gives you an even temperature in bed, you relax and the blood circulation increases. This is often enough to relieve pain from fibromyalgia, rheumatic complaints, muscle and wear and tear pain, stiff joints and cramps at night, etc. Historically, wool has always been an aid for pain and even in modern times it is used in many countries in modern medicine as a compliment to other treatment
ULLKOMFORTEN cannot, however, give any guarantees that everyone will experience the properties the same.
Easy care:
Thanks to the lanolin, good quality wool repels dirt and dust. Therefore, it is normally sufficient to air wool bedding regularly (2-4 times a month), preferably in damp weather. Avoid strong sunlight.
Twice a year, we recommend that you spray on lanolin mixed with water in connection with airing. The method is also recommended as a lighter dry foam cleaning. Spray on lanolin mixed with water over the entire surface. Let dry. After it has dried, vacuum or shake the product.
Snow washing is perhaps the oldest and most proven way to wash wool. Lay out the bed in the snow (new and clean) and let it lie for an hour. Shake out.
Stain removal: Use lanolin mixed with water. Spray on the stain and shampoo it. Let dry and brush up the bangs.
